Beautiful white, U.S. made Stratocaster with rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is in fantastic condition considering it is thirteen years old and has no serious knocks or dings. The white is changing with time into the famous (Or infamous?) Fender Blonde and is ageing wonderfully.
The neck is smooth and true with a lovely, slightly ageing fade to the fingerboard. The frets are clean and show very little signs of wear. It is instantly playable and I have made sure it is set up well.
There are two or three, virtually invisible surface scratches on the lower back corner and one tiny nick on the trussrod skunkstripe near the heel of the neck, you can possibly make these out on the photos, but these marks are virtually invisible and insignificant for a guitar of this age. It really is practically unmarked.
Some of the hardware has dulled a little but is mostly still shiny. You can see from the pics the bridge and saddles are really clean, showing little signs of wear.
The guitar has laid in it\'s case under a bed for four years (an un played present ) and sounded a little scratchy on the switch, volume and tone knobs so I have replaced all these with Fender replacement pots/switch and rewired it to a professional standard with new, classic Fender cloth push-back wire, so all the electrics are brand new.
Interestingly, a previous owner has fitted this Standard Stratocaster with Fender Samarium Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) pickups: These pickups were fitted as standard to the more expensive Fender American Deluxe models of the time and are higher output than the usual standard model pickups. Being higher output, these pickups noticeably drive the amps\' valves harder. They were specifically designed to cancel out background hum and can be considered an upgrade, they do sound great. (PLEASE NOTE: This standard strat does not have the S1 switch that was hooked up to these pickups on Deluxe models).
I\'ve also included a pic of the underside of the scratch plate where you can clearly see the SCN pickups and the wiring. The entire control cavity and underside of the scratch plate have been insulated with copper shielding, reducing unwanted noise and interference.
It is a truly beautiful guitar and plays and sounds fabulous. Also comes with it\'s original Fender hardcase, which is itself in great condition.
Please check out the photos, blow \'em up and ask any questions, I\'ll be happy to answer any you have. Thank you.
